A Sublime Spring Afternoon

Glorious Spring Sunday’s were made for parties like this one! Island sunshine beamed over The Chimney House as we prepared for the most beautiful surprise baby shower.

Delighted to host this super special day for Fern and Harry, taking care of every tiny detail - ready for them to enjoy a super laid back celebration with their friends and family.

Our magnificent 20ft antique feasting table was dressed with our trademark floral stems and the prettiest candlelight. Plus, lots of super cute prop details around the room! Flower walls, giant baby building blocks and a tree to leave gifts underneath!

In the afternoon our guests were treated to some sumptuous Sunday Jazz, Soul & Funk from Sheffield talent Georgie Harrison. Utterly delightful! Trays of fizz did the rounds and we served up a gorgeous spring feast from The Mowbray Kitchen.

Starting with our famous flatbread, chargrilled on the Mowbray Kitchen barbeque, Matt’s homemade rosemary focaccia with delightful homemade dips and antipasti. A magnificent Yorkshire Charcuterie with a selection of award winning salami from Lishman’s of Ilkley. Yes please!

Alongside some seriously tasty salads… New potatoes tossed with wholegrain mustard, diced shallots & parsley; Chargrilled tenderstem broccoli, miso soya yoghurt & pickled fennel; Roast celeriac, shaved radishes & radicchio… The delicious list goes on!

From the oven… We served up wild mushroom ‘sausage roll’ with tarragon & truffle oil; Ham hock, chicken & leek pie; Free range chicken breast with lemon & thyme with sweet garlic aioli.

After a super relaxed graze over lunch, out came the puds! And they did not disappoint. Lemon verbena posset & fresh raspberries; Pecan & sour cherry brownie and the ultimate crowd pleaser - Bakewell Tart & Clotted Cream.

What a splendid feast!
