Lu and Andy are total babes. We had SUCH a lot of fun hosting their super laid-back Yorkshire wedding at The Chimney House in May. Our Sheffield wedding venue is the ideal space to avoid the stuffy standard weddings you're used to (no chair covers please!) and these two were the perfect pair to appreciate all of the House love we heap on our couples!

Arriving in style on a glorious vintage bus, the clouds broke and the sunshine shone for long enough for Lu & Andy to grab some absolutely gorgeous pics on the cobbles next to our waterway.

Petal confetti was tossed, fizz and their own specially-brewed wedding ale was quaffed...

Then upstairs to feast! Our beautiful meeting room stacked to the rafters with candles and flowers, alongside the perfect personalised touches of their own love hearts and amazing cakes baked by a friend who'd designed record-deck cake stands. All setting the scene for our tables, groaning with delectable dishes to tuck in to...

Lu and Andy had plumped for our House Feast menu which includes short rib of beef slow cooked with wine, garlic, chestnut mushroom & parsley, slow cooked chicken with chorizo, chilli & garlic with sweet potato, courgette & baby spinach, spring cabbage, spinach & griddled cauliflower layered bake, new potatoes roast with rosemary & sun blushed tomatoes, roast beetroot, red onion & watercress salad, chargrilled squash salad, with puy lentils, halloumi & balsamic dressing and freshly baked bread loaves & pats of butter. All finished up with the lightest orange & lemon possets with Yorkshire lavender shortbread for dunking. 

After some beautifully touching speeches and plenty of time for wandering, chatting and digesting, it was time for the couple and their guests to have a little walk over to the Shakespeare pub for the afterparty.

"We recently hired The Chimney House for our Sheffield wedding reception. We wanted a more laid back, less traditional reception, without losing the sense of occasion for the day. The Chimney House was the perfect choice. In the build up to the wedding day, Kirstin was extremely helpful in assisting us with the organisation, itinerary and menu choices for the afternoon.

On the day itself, the staff looked after us brilliantly keeping drinks topped up and serving the food. This was served in a feasting style, and it lived up to the description! It was absolutely delicious and many of the guests commented how much they had enjoyed the food. A particular highlight was the slow cooked beef rib. The dining room in the Chimney House looks great anyway, but Kirstin dresses the venue with flowers and candles which looked wonderful.

We are super grateful for you guys going the extra mile - dropping off the cakes at Shakespeare's and braving the rain to make sure Nanna got her taxi ok!
